Young Carers

At the beginning of 2025 we started an after-school club (years 2-6) for pupils who are ‘Young Carers’ at StJHN (along with a few other pupils). A young carer is a child in school who has a parent or sibling that may have complex needs, additional needs or require an element of care. The club is an opportunity for these children to meet up and have support from each another and Mrs Jordan/ Mrs Lopez.

In this club, children will have lots of opportunities to create pieces of artwork, crafting, cooking, creating, as well as many other activities.

Centre 33 have been supportive in helping to set up our young carers group in school. To read more about Centre 33, click on the following link:

If you feel that your child is a young carer and you would like them to be included in the activities that the young carers do in school, please speak to your child’s class teacher, the office or email Mrs Jordan, who will be happy to contact you and talk to you more about StJHN young carers.
